BURN BABY BURN

It was a fantastic evening at the Ankeny Area Historical Society. It only took 7 years to acquire almost a million bucks to build the BARN. Denny and Sue Albaugh were the biggest donors. Don and Char Lamberti highlighted the final boost to get out of debt. When it came down to about 50 grand left, the Casey's founder promised half of the amount if the society could get the rest in donations......They did it....BURN the ceremonial mortgage....Don and Char, the fire lighter Rose Hutton Taylor, the officers, past presidents, board of directors and members and donors....you will see Ray in his wheel chair, he donated the first money and said that if they need more, let him know........be sure to come to our Open House events, first Sunday of each month, 1-4 pm. and special events, Summerfest, 7th grade tours.......Ankeny has a gem......carry on.......
