Lining up a blindfolded golfer during the
East Side Trailer Trash Golf event.
St Patty's day, barb and her deviled eggs,
friend Carolyn Fox and I have mutual
Ankeny friends, Quinta Mazatlan bait
for birds and the old bell at the entry
to the hiking trails...
a few minutes ago. Wind out of the SE, so I had to
close the door and put on a blouse over the swim
suit. Guess I won't be bobbing tonight. Now the
weather man suggests four days of rain starting
on Sunday. I have to get my rig waxed in the next
10 days, back it done and the bottom of one side
and the front is done.
The golf game is still great fun. My favorite hole,
#8, is 209 yards, straight fairway, first 175 yards
is rough ground, then it is uphill to a narrow green
that runs low in the front to high in the back.
With a straight shot, I can drive the green, with either
the big stick, a five wood, or my hybrid. Last week
using the hybrid I drove the green, walked it off as
about 9 feet, rolled it in for my first eagle of the
winter. Also shot a nice 39 on the back nine the
other day with some good putting finally.
I have a new laptop, will spend the evening trying to
figure it out....carry on

Olympic silver medal winners, my teammate Ruth from
Ontario. Ben's birthday party, with a dick crutch and a visit
with Ankeny friend Val, flying kites at the dunes on SPI. I took a
dolphin watch boat ride, then went to Quinta Maxatlan with the
photo club, I have driven by Cynthia's apts. for years..4 star!
Cactus in bloom and winter Tx day in Progresso, red Panty bar
people. Then you will see the parties thrown when they move
a park model. The Cornhusker Barb made deviled eggs for
the St Patty's day party. Cyndy and foursome at the end of the
ladies league Solheim Cup, Partner Linda on the right, and I won
first place.another photo of moving parties for the park models,

Did you send in your census form?
I am watching the final four, so I might be posting
a lot tonight.
Did you send in your census ? I received the first one and
set it aside. Within a week I had a 2nd letter to remind me,
so I did my duty and answered most of the questions and
sent it in. Since then I have received a 3rd letter...I love it,
if every household in the USA gets at least three letters, it
should pull the Postal Service out of their doldrums and
maybe save Saturday delivery. Of course, the USPS could also
be managed better and listen to the carriers about efficiency,
etc.
I had a text message from a friend today, she and hubby
are watching the Cards play baseball at the new Minnesota
baseball field. Twins were ahead.
I am lot #14 on my street, meaning the first RV on our side,
the rest of the units are park models. A park model is a very
small, one bedroom mobile home. Today, there are only three
park models on my side of the street. The owner raised the
prices on the new 5 year contracts and everyone has pulled up
stakes and moved out or sold out and when you sell, the new
owner has to move out! It is sad, my next door neighbor was
here over 20 years. Now she is going home to Ohio. She said
she might not last more than one winter up north, but she
won't be back in this park. Same true for a lot of people. The
almighty dollar is king.....
Butler is in control..babyface is looking good.....carry on.

Winter is gone
spring is here. I am done with most of my workamper jobs, one
left to do, paint the kitchen. I noticed the last entry was over a month
ago, after my Komen golf event. Catch up: weather finally
became what we are used to...70's and up....golf was more
enjoyable. Of course, not bragging, I won the league scratch
tournament. My main competitor did not get to play 18 holes in
the event, but she won the scratch 9 hole event. Last week I
finally hit #8 on the drive, a 209 hole. Walk off was about 9 feet
and I made the putt for an eagle. The golf course workampers
had their end of the season golf event, golf in the dark with the
glow balls. 2nd place. The EAST SIDE TRAILER TRASH golf
event was on Weds. first place with a 35. Life now is golf when
possible, go to the pool around 4 pm everyday. They finally
turned off the heaters and the pool is enjoyable. Yesterday I
walked 18 holes, 9 with the girls group, 9 on my own. By the
time I finished, I was tired, but the swimming pool felt great
with the cool water.
I am still loving the basketball and am cheering for the underdog,
Butler. Tied at half time. My overall pick was West Virginia and
they are up vs. Duke in the second game tonight. I will be happy
in the Championship game, Butler vs WVa.
Road trip coming up to El Paso around the first of the month, depending
on when my teammate flies in from Iowa. I will not be going to
Cuidad Juarez while out in west Texas....It is sad out there, military
vs. the drug cartels for control of their shipping lines to the USA
Easter Sunday will be dinner /brunch out with my Iowa family.
70 degrees now, at 615 pm. I did not get a job done today for
moving. OOPS! Maybe later, I have an easy job planned.....
For my friends that have my e mail address, I have a new address
and I hope I sent it to all of ya'll......Yahoo and Facebook address
books were hacked..I am gone from both of those places with
my e mail......Carry on....

Susan B Komen
was a victim of the disease, just
like the First Wives Club movie,
if I remember correctly...I just
finished up hosting my 2nd event
here at Llano Grande Golf Course.
Last year, 25 ladies joined up, this
year 44 MEN and women joined me in this
fundraising event. I put out the call to the
ladies in my golf league. They signed up,
as well as our sister park Victoria Palms.
I raised over $800. Everyone won at least
ONE door prize including a golf bag
donated by my boss. Freddy Couples joined
us again for a photo session, thanks to
Jimmy at Honey Creek Golf Course in
Boone, Iowa......I did this.....for my
cousins on the other side of the family
who lost their mom to this disease back
in the 60's. Daughter/cousin Lisa is now about
an 8 year survivor...Sally's mom also
passed in the 60's, Sally was 8 years old.
She also lost an Aunt and a cousin has
issues today. A golf/bowling friend is
close to a 30 year survivor. A new friend in
our photography club is a 10 year survivor..I DO THIS
for my dear friend Barb, we lost her to this disease
about 5 years ago....
I do this for Cousin REESE.....she is 5 years old.
With our donations to help the research, maybe
Reese won't have to go thru the same things
that her grandmother and aunt had to go through.
THINK PINK.....WEAR PINK......RALLY FOR THE CURE
CARRY ON MY FRIENDS

Weds Feb 3, 2010
I am so happy to be back online. No problem
last season in the RGV, the wiring is not the
best on the east side of our park. We are the
first section built. Go figure. They just
installed a new tower in the North, but NO
tower at all in the East. I have been all over
the web sites I love for a few hours, trying
to answer e mails, read e mails, reading the
DSM Register to catch up on Iowa....Who knew that
just within the last 14 years anyone would be
so attached to the internet with communication
by something that did not exist in the 90's. Mainly
speaking about the WWW.....Amazing where technology
has taken us and how we all depend on it to keep
in touch with family and friends via an e mail
or a silly story or a survey about your favorite
things....share a photo of life or your grand kids
or the last vacation, alumni event, your hobby.
I love it and I am addicted and miss it when I am
unable to LOG ON to the internet. Thank you Joe
for your service and keep in touch mis amigos.....
Aloha.....Carry on.......FORE....

It was cold here one day
in January, 2010. Maybe not as rough in
the RGV as it has been in Iowa, long pants
are not favorites of mine...

Jan 23
First time online for over an hour in
almost a month.
Weather great this week finally, 70-80
all week long. This is normal for a Texas
winter. Golf is OK, lost park Olympics
competition. Hope to redeem by winning
the Golden Age Olympics in Mc Allen this
Thursday. We won last year with a sweet 61.
Internet a problem, still no luck downloading
photos to the blog. It takes too long.
Iowa is freezing, ice, snow, wind, everyone
is suffering, no electricity. i left the boys
two units to help keep them warm, I hope
they didn't have to use them and I hope
everyone was safe on the roads.
will try again to download some winter
photos.....Carry On..

add some photos from the freeze and
let ya'll know how things are going in
the valley this winter. First off, we
are sufferin' just like ya'll up north.
This cold weather is world wide, and
what I hoped for is not to be so far.

What a difference a day makes
first shot is #8 tee box, all water
logged, then you can see the tee box
advertising sign, bench and ball
washer, then the end of #8 cart path.
OH MY, Saturday shows the ball
washer/bench and water shed above
water, as well as an open cart path.

The parrots
of Llano Grande and the RGV, Rio Grande Valley.
Anywhere from 715 to 9 am, they arrive. It depends
on the weather. In the evening, around 5 pm, same
thing. Turn off my music and listen to the noise.
These videos are from about 100 feet from the
wires and the tree. The squawking is from the
entire crowd of birds.....what is it? A flock
of parrots as opposed to a flock of seagulls?
When they roll in, in the afternoon, there
are so many people outside to watch and listen
and laugh. The flock might be 100 or more
birds....this time the downloads worked, but
I didn't know which ones were longer.I might
try to download more, but this winter life in
Texas is so crazy, I don't have as much free
time as I do back in snow country...carry on.....

Christmas in the park
I hope I picked the best parrot video. Yes, about 100 or
more parrots flyin around 7-9 am every morning and around
5 pm every night, unless it is cold. Then they hide under
cover.....
As for the moose on the loose.......hahahaha
